Attention all steak lover!
This one is for you. This dreamy lettuceless salad is bound to entice your taste buds while still satisfying your cravings for a nice bit of steak. Fresh cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, coriander and that awesome chargrill on the meat is all you need for the best healthy dinner. ‘nough said! Enjoy!
1 Sirloin steak (this is the cut I prefer but you can use rump or ribeye just as well)
6 cherry tomatoes halved
1 bunch of spring onions finely chopped
100g feta cheese
1 handful of chopped coriander
1 lemon juiced
Pinch of salt and pepper
1 table spoon of toasted sesame oil
In a salad bowl toss in the halved cherry tomatoes, spring onions, crumbled feta, coriander and lemon juice and mix with a spoon.
For the steak, which needs to be at room temperature, get your frying pan and olive oil very hot and add the steak cooking it for 2 mins on each side for medium rare. Take the steak off the heat, season with a pinch of salt and pepper and leave to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
If you prefer your steak cooked differently here’s some tips:
BLUE: 1 min on each side
RARE: 1.5 min on each side
MED-RARE: 2 mins on each side
MEDIUM: 2.5 mins on each side
WELL DONE: 4-5 mins on each side (it might be a bit tough though)
