I am always on the search for ingredients I have never used before, so in hope of some inspiration I went to Borough Market. As soon as I got there I was drawn in like a magpie to a diamond ring, and I was in love. Walking through this glorious foodie’s playground was enough for me to get my creative juices flowing and come up with this wonderful burger recipe. I absolutely adore this burger because it’s got edge and attitude, it’s not just a regular burger, and it’s THE IT burger. So without further ado here you have it.
Makes 1 portion
1 wild boar burger patty
1 large Portobello mushroom peeled
1 slice Emmental Cheese
½ beef tomato
1 handful of mixed salad leaves
½ red onion sliced
1 ciabatta bun
1 spoon full of butter
Start by seasoning with your wild boar patty with a pinch of salt and pepper, then get your frying pan ready on medium heat. Wait until the butter is almost melted then add the sliced onions and the Portobello mushroom and cook until soft. Remove the onions from the pan and add your meat patty and cook for around 5-7 mins on each side (it will need to be cooked all the way through, just like pork).
While this is cooking slice your tomato and prepare your ciabatta bun adding the rest of the ingredients to it. Once the wild boar is cooked assemble your burger adding the cheese and mushroom last, for that extra gooey texture, and SERVE.
